We Should Not Be So Judge-mental – Tolerance

We need to stop judging one another and learn tolerance and understanding, respecting differences and rather than punishment, how about rehabilitation instead. For example: http://shepardofpeace.tumblr.com/post/116381612988/useless-pen-in-this-african-tribe-when

Before I Was Born

I might have been to Summerland. I remember before I was born. I was in a place with many others and there was noting but pure love, comfort and rest. I looked down onto earth and I saw all kinds of terrible things. I can’t remember the terrible things I saw, it was just bad, accept I remember the last thing. I saw a mushroom cloud of an atomic explosion. Then a man began to approach and I knew why he was coming and I was afraid. He said to me, “it is time to go.” I broke down and cried almost falling to my knees. He had a beard, he put his hand on my shoulder and said, “everything will be okay.” I used to believe this place was heaven and that this man was Jesus. But now I’m not really sure.

I Feel Something Out There

Wrote this in 1977 about the feeling I had the first time I was out to sea in the Navy.

Know The Truth

Most people think they know what they want and believe that they dislike this or that. But the truth is many are surprised by their own feelings and sometimes even ashamed when they should be celebrating. Because we have allowed what we have been taught to be a mask that sometimes we can’t even see through much less others. Know truth and let your heart be your guide.

We Need To Support Syria In Its War Against Terrorists

I just got a phone call from James Lankford’s office about an email message I sent explaining that we should not support moderate rebels to fight ISIS, but rather the Syrian government who is fighting terrorists.  I’m not writing this to boast that I actually got a reply from these people who call themselves my government.  I’m writing this to protect myself, to set the record straight.  Because I disagree with them, they might label me a terrorist and I might disappear during the night. So before that ever might happen, I’m putting my newly won net neutrality into good use before they take that away.

If this young man who called me gave me his name, I can’t remember, I’m not very good at remembering names, I’m sorry.  I should have written it down.  But he was sure of himself, armed with well rehearsed propaganda about how Assad is a terrorist who would destroy Israel.

I’ll just get to the end of the conversation.  I was angry, but I kept my cool. I said, “you know, other countries called Bush a terrorist.”  He laughed, I didn’t know I told a joke, but he thought that was funny.  I explained that Bush was a democratically elected president.  I said that Assad is a democratically elected president and we should respect that just as we would expect other countries to respect our democratically elected president.  Terrorists aren’t elected, they try to take over a government with violence and that’s why we call them terrorists and we should not be supporting them.  I said that we need to just stay out of there all together and leave them alone or if we’re going to fight terrorists, then we need to support a democratically elected president who is currently fighting terrorism.  I told him I was sticking to that point of view and I’m not going to change it.  He thanked me, I thanked him and the call ended.

So that is that.  Blessed Be.

Undergoing Surgery Next Week

Next week I will be undergoing surgery.  They’ll be cutting me open on my left and right side and belly button to remove a part of my colon which has been damaged for some time.  Probably for the last 15 years.  I figure it happened when I was a truck driver, being bounced around inside the cab, going over rough loads under a heavy load.

Pretty sure I do not have cancer.  They’ll know for certain afterwards.  I’ll be out of work for two weeks drugged up on pain killers.  I imagine I’ll be making some interesting posts during that time.  So right now I declare that I am not responsible for anything I post between the 9th and the 23rd of March.

I figure I’ll be in better health afterwards.  I told my wife that I’ll have rock hard abs again, she doesn’t believe it.  I’ll have to prove her wrong, that’s my job.  I figure my high blood pressure problem will go away and a few other problems. I’ve gone two weeks without my blood pressure medicine before my blood pressure went up again.  So I figure after I’m all healed up, I’ll go completely off all my medication and see what happens and I think I’ll be alright and live to be at least 90 years old.

So I think I’ll have fair winds and following seas, but wish well for me this full moon anyways if you will and I will do the same for all of you.

What Is Grace

My response to the blog article:  As I did not hear the sermon you had heard, I cannot comment on the sermon. I can only explain my definition.

Grace is a feeling a person feels when they are forgiven.

Why do we all need grace, because we all feel shame.

You may not realize this because you were born that way and may have never thought of it.

Animals don’t need grace because they don’t feel shame like we do.

We are a strange animal. The book of Genesis explains why we are a strange animal. Some take this book literally, I do not.

I do not understand the science behind our creation and do not pretend to know. Genesis is simply an attempt to explain.

First God breathed into us the breath of life and he did not do this with any other animal which set us apart from other animals which could explain why it is we managed to subdue the whole earth.

Second, we are ashamed of our nakedness. The only animal on this earth who acts like this. Who hides them self from each other out of shame. Not just our nakedness, but even our compassion we are ashamed of. For instance.  We will pet a strange dog or cat but we dare not pet a strange person. You may not have thought about this because you have been like this most of your life and it may not seem odd to you. But if you think about it, it is strange behavior.

Because we carry this shame around with us, we require grace in order to be saved from it.

This is the Grace that Jesus offers us freely if we choose to accept.  Before he died, his last words, “forgive them for they know what they do.” and “it is finished.” Because of this we are offered grace. I don’t exactly know how it works and don’t claim to know. There are those who claim they understand, but I don’t think they do because they certainly don’t act like they understand.

So there you have it, the meaning of grace

Heaven Is Real

Yesterday I had my colonoscopy and it really isn’t that bad. They put you to sleep, you don’t know nothing and coming to my wife said I was really funny, I kept making her laugh. Seeing I’m not really a funny person, I find that interesting. They were playing rock n roll music in the surgery room and I was explaining that this was do to my long hair.

But anyways, they found a large polyp that they could not remove without surgery which will be scheduled next week and everyone is so scared that it is cancer.

My wife gave me a big hug before I went to bed and her daughters and my sisters are concerned.

Now this is the weird part, if they told me I had cancer I would die soon, I would be so happy. I remember before I was born, I was in heaven and I didn’t want to leave, but was told I had to and I so badly want to go back there. But my wife, though this has not yet been foretold is already worked up over the possibility. I don’t want anybody to be hurt. She is older than me, she should go before me, that’s the way it should be.

But if anybody tells you that heaven is boring. Let me try to explain, when you get high you are trying to experience heaven. When you fall in love you are experiencing heaven. Most people have been there, I just seem to be the only one who remembers. All of our life on this earth is trying to get back there. That’s what we do.

Heaven is real. Don’t believe anything else and keep reaching for it.

It Appears That Steve Russell is Against Net Neutrality

Dear Mr. Harkness,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about net neutrality.  I appreciate the time you took to contact me.

“Net neutrality” refers to the concept that Internet service providers (ISPs) should treat all data traveling over their network equally in terms of hosting rates and speeds of service. In 2005, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced that broadband Internet service is not a “telecommunications service,” and therefore not subject to existing FCC rules that prohibit variations in rates and services.

Despite ruling that ISPs are not telecom companies, the FCC adopted rules to regulate how ISPs handle Internet traffic.  These “open internet” rules banned broadband providers from blocking or discriminating against online content based on user, source, or application. In Verizon v. FCC, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia struck down these FCC rules that regulate ISPs’ data. Verizon successfully claimed that the FCC lacked jurisdiction over broadband service.

The FCC continues to fight to make the Internet a public utility and subject to government regulation.  On Feb. 26, 2015, the full commission will vote on a new proposal to reclassify the Internet as a telecommunication service, which would allow FCC oversight, instead of an information service. The FCC is proposing to regulate ISPs under Title II of the Communications Act of 1934.  Title II authorizes the FCC to regulate telecommunications carriers, despite prior rulings stating that ISPs are not “telecommunication services.”

I believe that regulating the Internet is no different than regulating the press; both are protected by the First Amendment.  The First Amendment is a means to limit government power and shield citizens from government intrusion.  This regulation is explicitly unconstitutional, and it sets a dangerous precedent for future government overreaches.

So-called “net neutrality” also inhibits the Internet service market from functioning freely.  I believe that ISPs like Comcast and Verizon should be permitted to innovate and adjust prices as the market fluctuates.  Businesses are already laden with government-inflicted overregulation, and I will not contribute to further overreach through imposing net neutrality by regulating ISPs under the FCC’s Title II authority.  As legislation regarding Internet regulation and telecommunications policy comes before the House for a vote, I will continue to keep your thoughts in mind.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your opinions and concerns with me.  Please visit my website to send another message, read my positions on major issues, and sign up for my E-Newsletter.  I look forward to hearing from you again soon.  It is an honor to be your voice in Congress.

Steve Russell
Member of Congress

It is official, Steve Russell is against Net Neutrality.

I’m sure Steve understands this, so I don’t have to explain it to him, but if you’re confused, let me explain it to you.

What Steve is proposing here is that the government should not medal in the business of the internet and allow corporations their freedom of free speech while restricting our freedom of free speech.

Let me explain.  It is proposed that internet service providers are allowed to have two or more lanes.  Fast lanes are the lanes for corporations who can pay more and slower lanes are for the rest of us who can’t pay so much.  So corporate sites will load so much faster while our lanes will not load so fast.

Its like politics.  Corporations can afford to buy politicians for us to vote for.  We can’t pay so much, so we just get to vote for the politicians they prop up for us.

This is only because corporations have rights.  We care about the rights of corporations because corporations pay those big campaign contributions.  We don’t care so much about non corporation people like you and I, because we can’t pay so much, so we’re not so important.

So in other words money talks and the rest of us who don’t have a lot of money, we don’t have a lot of free speech.

Steve – I know you are a veteran like myself.  We both took an oath to protect the constitution and I’m sorry you decided to break that oath and sell out to the corporations.

Clothe The Naked

The bible teaches us to clothe the naked as if it were a prerequisite to enter heaven. Few pay mind to this because Jesus died, so there is no working for our salvation. I’m not sure about that “Jesus died for you so there is no working for your salvation thing that many Christians believe.” Lets just say we believe in Jesus who saved us and Jesus said, “I was naked and you clothed me.” to those who get to go to heaven. To those who don’t go to heaven he says “I was naked and you didn’t clothe me.”

He explained that if you don’t help others than you don’t help me. So Jesus died and earned our respect, so we should help him right.

I’m 55 years old and I have never come across any naked people who need clothing. So what does that mean?

It’s slang or poetry. Our nakedness is our shame. When a person is ashamed we are supposed to comfort them. Another way to explain this. Another scripture in the new testament tells us that love covers many sins. Nakedness represents the sin and clothing represents love.

What we should not do, as we are programmed by reality TV and such other items in society. We are not supposed to judge.

Like – “you did what, Oh my goodness, I would never.” When really only God knows if you really would or not. So don’t judge.

Clothe the naked. When a person feels ashamed and guilty, help them to feel better about them self. It won’t hurt you none and it might help them and you might get to go to heaven.
